Random Thoughts #42: Staying in touch

I’m not a good blogger because I don’t stay in touch with people in the blogiverse well. I blog and then I disappear for days so I might comment or reply to something, and I might not comment or reply to something. And what’s blogging without the social interaction and friendships? I’m like that unreliable boyfriend you love with all of your heart who’s… unreliable. The (charming, witty and ruggedly handsome) boyfriend who has you banging your head against a brick wall for months and months until you’re reduced to writing to Dear Abby for advice.

On the subject of staying in touch, while out for a walk today I realized that between automatic doors, and COVID, and touchless wave sensors, I haven’t touched a door handle (not counting my own doors and the car and refrigerator door) in over 1,000 days. I haven’t read about any new innovations in door handles so I’m guessing they’re probably the same as I remember them.
