Summer Nights

February 9, 2016

The Five-to Fifty/Fifty-Five exercise is to write a 50-word story using the five words provided in the prompt so your final story is 55 (or fewer if you want) words. The prompt is courtesy of Richard Osgood at Zoetrope’s “The Flash Factory“.

If you’d like to play along please leave a link in the comments so I can go and read yours.

Summer Nights

Sandy was alive and full of promise.

Her kiss tasted like strawberry ice cream those summer nights at Spencer Lake. Now, forty years later, I sit on the hood of my car and watch the moon reflecting off the lake’s flat water and I count the memories.

Too many to count; so many lost promises.
