Sorry Sun Lovers
Dear sun lovers, I hate to break the news to you, but… wait, I really don’t hate to break the news to you and, in fact, I’m actually sort of happy to break the news to you! Are you ready? Today – June 25, 2012 – is one minute shorter than yesterday – June 24, 2012 – was. Yesterday the sun rose at 5:28 and this morning the sun rose at 5:29. You don’t need me to paint you a picture to know what that means, do you?
Yes, I’m smiling as I type this and no, I don’t feel bad at all.
In fact, this Thursday, the sun won’t rise until 5:30 and on Saturday, we’re looking at a 5:31 sunrise. That is a whopping loss of three minutes of daylight in just one week!
You know July 4th? The day off from work that we’re all looking forward to that’s only like nine days away? Five minutes less daylight than today!
Oh, someone pinch me. I don’t deserve this type of joy!
It means winter is coming? It means you are a vampire and will have more time to play? It means the birds will start singing that much later? What does it mean?
