Photo Prompt of the Week

April 23, 2012

The photo prompt for the week is:

SUN

“Mama always told me not to look into the sights of the sun, oh but mama, that’s where the fun is.” – Bruce Springsteen, Greetings From Asbury Park, 1973

Since my fun-seeking days are pretty much behind me, and since my mom always gives good – and usually unheeded – advice, I thought I’d listen this time and not take any direct pictures of the sun. Happy, mom? So, here we go.

This is the sun streaming in the small window at the self-service car wash.

This is some good advice

And this is me not looking into the sights of the sun, but standing with the sun behind me. As you can see by my shadow, I’m very tall. Freakishly so you might say.

i normally use my challenge link in the address field – however for some reason i am unable to post using my regular moniker, pix & kardz, so here is the link to the sun at my side of the cybersphere: http://wp.me/p1hfki-2dS

Really enjoyed the sequence. Love the B&W, and the saying on the headstone is terrific. Thanks for sharing them. Here are my two contributions to Sun. Hope you can visit: http://annefreemanimages.wordpress.com/

Nice creative interpretation of the theme. I like shadow portraits too! (I also love the Springsteen quote…)
