Steeping it simple
I recently discovered a tea shop downtown while walking through the skyways. I stop in and get an ounce of this and an ounce of that, peppermint or ginger, decaf Earl Grey. I went out on a limb a couple of times and got some fancy stuff; one was a rooibos something with other stuff like almonds and marshmallow root and other plant roots. Another one, I don’t remember the name, but I think it had the word “Red” in the name, and it also had a bunch of roots mixed together. I didn’t like either of those fancy teas. In fact, I haven’t really liked any of the loose leaf teas I’ve brought home. I don’t know why, but I just seem to like the old fashioned tea bags I get at the grocery store.
I’m probably not very sophisticated tea drinker.
One tea I’ve been enjoying is a pure green decaf from a brand called Yogi. I like that they print a little affirmation on the end of the dunking string (I’m not sure if the string has an official name or not?) and this morning I was advised to take strength knowing that I can make a difference in the world. Over 7.5 billion people in the world… ok, if it makes them feel better I’ll try and take strength in little granule me making a difference somewhere out there. I’ll start tomorrow.
I used to know someone who put a lot of cream and sugar in their tea. I don’t know if that’s sophisticated or not. I tried her creamy, sweetened tea once and stuck with coffee.
Otis Redding, I don’t think, drank much tea, but he apparently liked drinking coffee very early in the morning with the woman he loved.
See? You just did it: made a difference in the world with this lovely post and the music video. Go you!

I like rooibos tea only because it is caffeine-free so when I want something warm to drink on those (very few) cool nights here in sunny FL, rooibos is my go-to. Otherwise, coffee is my warm drink of choice. Very strong and very black.

I used to like strong coffee but I don’t like the caffeine anymore so herbal teas and decaf are about it for me. I wonder if it was all the other things mixed in with the rooibos tea that I didn’t like?

Yeah….marshmallow root doesn’t sound too good to me.

Michael B. we drink Salada black and orange pekoe. We like it so much we buy it by the case. The company has taglines on their little tag. One of the newest ones (on this evening’s cuppa): “Foolish mimes offer no sound advice.”
Have a great weekend! ~Nan
