Hey Kimberly, thanks for visiting and for the comment! I took down most of the stuff I write, but it’s still fun to blog once in awhile.

I found this blog via a circuitous route – a Tweet on @FantasyPlaza took me to the Science Fiction and Fantasy website, which gave a reference to your My Favorite Indie Bookstore. When I tried to leave a comment there, I was told I had to register and since I am fed up with keeping long lists of passwords, I tried your WordPress blog, since I’m already registered on WordPress! Anyway, from the interesting piece on Uncle Hugo’s Science Fiction Bookstore, I decided that you’re a fan of “real” books and I’m always looking for members of that quaint species. I’m a retired librarian and a writer of self-published science fiction; I’ve published one novella and am impatiently awaiting the receipt of permission to quote copyrighted material before I can publish an SF novel. And I can tell you that all of my books will be published first as “real” books – as paperbacks. Epublishing is secondary in my mind and has many drawbacks. The books need to be very simple in construction in order to display properly. And I write conlangs, both of which use strange characters that may not translate to Kindle or Smashwords. Just one of many problems.
I intend to join this site and follow another fan of the “real” book!

One more word – I don’t know where that little purple character came from! That’s nothing that I use!
