The ballad of Joe
If you like reading works loaded with literary style, then go check out Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt #286 where the word today is bibliophile.

The ballad of Joe (39)
People didn’t like Joe because he used words like bibliophile and ouvre.
And ergo.
Joe was pretentious.
People began avoiding Joe. His phone stopped ringing. His Facebook posts received no likes. Over time people forgot him.
Joe never knew.

Poor old pretentious Joe how ‘egregious’! 🙂

A shame nobody pointed out the error of his ways!

You’re probably right, but I’m not sure he would have listened.

Joe wasn’t obviously ‘showing off’ if he didn’t care enough to notice who was watching. 😉

Funny you should mention this -not that I’ve driven someone off with ‘ouvre,’ but I had someone Unfriend and Block me and it’s actually great. I have no idea what they write or if they even exist.

Is that on Facebook? Sometimes I think of Unfriending myself on FB and leaving.

Yes.
😀 I’ll have to see if I can unfriend myself.

If not oeuvre, what word works? God forbid Joe have a descent vocabulary.
Maybe autocorrect got you, but the word is bibliopole, which is, of course, the same thing as a bibliophile. I had to look it up. 🙂

Nothing wrong with a decent vocabulary. Pretentiousness though, I’m not so sure.
Not autocorrect. Old eyes.
