Coping
I’ve been called a curmudgeon,
and sometimes much worse.
Like words with four letters
or another such curse.
But I don’t let it bug me,
I don’t really care.
I just close both my eyes and I
breath and prepare.
I think, “May you be happy
and may you be well.
In peace and contentment
may you always dwell.”
That’s all.
Then . . .
I clear my mind.
I take a deep breath.
I smile to the world.
I open my eyes.
And I’m happy.

The Jack Kornfield quote is the best. As is your poem!

Dear Michael,
I concur with lois! I really like that you have ended your post with the quotation:
Jack Kornfield has so many wise and insightful statements that I have carefully selected a number of them to be featured stylishly in my post entitled “🔄📈📉 Change Rules and Moment Matters: How to Stay in the Moment 🔖🕰️🔂“, published at

One of the quotations is somewhat similar to the one that you quoted:
Thank you for your lovely poem, which I have enjoyed very much. And thank you for your wishing us as follows:
Wishing you and lois a productive November doing or enjoying whatever that satisfies you the most, whether intellectually, physically or spiritually!
Yours sincerely,
