You’ve got a friend?
I remember a world before we “friended” and “unfriended” people with a fingertip and where we talked to our friends using our mouths instead of our fingers. Not that I dislike this world, my fingers are in pretty good shape, but I think I liked that old one better. It seems, looking back, like it was – even though it really wasn’t – calmer. And friendlier. I know it was friendlier because you could hitchhike back then and not have to worry about the person who pulled over to give you a ride.
I guess I’m old, huh? Do I sound like a curmudgeon?
“The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Friends are good. Sometimes tough to find and sometimes tough to keep.
Wow, call me Mr. Profound!
“Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.” Mark Twain
