Anyone Can Poem (05/03/21 Carrot Ranch)
Chelsea says that anyone can poem and I’m here to prove her wrong to see if that’s really true.
This week at the Saddle Up Saloon Chelsea talks to us about a haiku.
She also said that YOU can write an excellent haiku. She has a great sense of humor, she does! But that “YOU” might have been directed at YOU so click the link above and join in.
Here we go. I was focused on nature, and after the first one I felt like keeping at it for a little longer. After the second one I thought, “What if I didn’t try to be funny? What if I tried to be like . . . like me?”
Blue skies, cool breezes.
Pollen and bad Twins baseball,
Who doesn’t love spring?
Winter leaves, spring’s here.
Me, I go with the flower –
Take it or leaf it.
Before the sunrise,
when the birds are just stirring
is when I feel peace.
The rising sun smiles.
Splitting cool thin morning clouds –
and I bow in thanks.
Breathing in, I pause.
Anxious thoughts; try to let go.
Breathing out, I smile.
Quite nicely done!
