What I saw today.

Today I saw a parking garage downtown that was open. Not really an uncommon sight with so many people working from home nowadays.

In a world of things to see this was a rather boring thing to have seen today.

I also saw a work crew putting up a steel cage around a hole. I think that might be just a notch below a green “OPEN” sign on the boring scale, but only because no one on the work crew was looking at me or at the fence so there was nothing that made the scene interesting.

(Like a green “OPEN” sign is interesting. Yeah, I know.)

And for all I know they might now even have been the work crew that actually put up the fence and were simply admiring the work of a different work crew. Or, since I don’t know when the fence was actually put up, for all I know they could have been a work crew assembling to take down the fence.

They might not even have been a work crew at all because they might have hijacked the original work crew on their way to lunch and tied them up in an large truck and stolen their work crew clothes. I hope that’s not the case because if there’s a work crew of imposters walking around I think we might all be in trouble because who knows what kind of work they might do. Or worse: might not do. Let’s not even think about that, ok?

Speaking of imposters, have you ever read about “Imposter Syndrome”? It’s kind of interesting. People who deal with Imposter Syndrome, while fully competent, doubt their work and fear that others will call them a fraud. Their success isn’t viewed as a result of anything they did, but because of simple luck, or that they’ve somehow managed to convince other people that they’re smarter/better than they really are.

The work crew I saw was not an example of group Imposter Syndrome because they folks clearly acted as if they knew what they were doing.
