Noodle
I saw this writing prompt where “Noodle” was the word of the day and that made me think of pasta and because I like pasta I thought I’d give it a try because, after all, when you’re talking about noodles, the pastabilities are endless.
But I found that despite being endless, they’re not so easy to think of when you’re distracted, and let me tell you, if I had a penne for every time I drew a blank to a writing prompt I could probably . . . Sorry, I’m rambling. I have a pennechant for that. Let’s just say I had a difficult time pennetrating my creative side because like I said, I’m a little distracted. You see, I got lost on the way to work this morning. You’d think that making a mistake like that while you’re doing something you do just about every single day would be impastable, but sure enough, I did it. I was so preoccupied that I went right pasta exit. Talk about being embarrassed. I felt like pulling over and crawling into the back ziti, leaning on my elbow and gnocchi myself in the head for like an hour orzo. Needless to say it threw my whole daily rotini out of whack.
I’d like to try and end this with a joke but this confession has left me tortellini embarrassed so I think it’s best if I just stop here. But you do know why Mrs. Tomato turned red, don’t you? She saw Mr. Green Pea.
I really like this one because my parents were both from northeastern Pennesylvania, and my favorite relative is Auntie Pasto. Anne Chovy from Ohio says her son is trying out for the Lima Beans
