Little Snowperson

March 12, 2018

Walking in to work this morning –

(isn’t interesting how one word can make a difference? Because if I had typed,        “Walking into work this morning” it would have made work seem like a brick wall or something that I had walked headfirst into. Of course sometimes work does feel like a brick wall that I’m walking headfirst into, especially when people call in to say they’re going to be late this morning (do people really not know about the return to Daylight Savings Time and did they not turn on the news at all since Friday or talk to someone who had?) because their alarm clock or alarm phone or alarm TV had the wrong time, but that’s beside the point.)

– I passed this little snowperson hanging out on the corner of 6th Street and 4th Avenue South in downtown Minneapolis. It’s not a great picture and I wasn’t in the mood to bend down and take the picture but you get the idea. The eyes, nose and arms are made from little twigs and his mohawk haircut is a little rock.

I have no idea who made the little snowperson and left it there to guard the intersection, but whoever you are, thank you for the morning surprise. It’s nice to start the day with a smile.

Well, if you do hit a wall (literally or figuratively) at work today, at least you have the image of this cheery snow-faux hawk to hold on to…or is it hold onto.
(D’you think a stone faux on a snowman is anything like hockey hair?)

It’s weird because I’ve never heard of hockey hair before the tournament and the last few days I’ve heard it all the time. Maybe it’s something I’ve always known but blocked out because of my personal relationship with hair?

Haha…my kids were never into hockey, so I, too was oblivious for the longest time.
