THE STORY
This Ain’t No Home & Garden Show
You remember the triffids? Well these bad boys were triffids on steroids. No meteor shower this time so the scientists were lost when these leafy-veined varmints sprouted legs, began spitting poison and eating people like Earth was one giant Old Country Buffet.
Thanks to the US, the Paris Agreement dissolved in 2021, which led to the oceans drying up, so killing these creepy creepers with seawater again was out and, unfortunately, so was our time. My master gardening skills are all that’s kept me alive this long and hopefully my diary will serve as a warning to others.
The End?

It’s “Attack of the Plant People” all over again. ARRGGGHHH, here comes one of those sneaky vines, now. Alllp, I must run…. it’s got my toe… Oh, NOOOOOOOooooooo……. ❤

One positive is that we don’t have to waste so much time getting a suntan. What used to be an hour is now just five minutes on the front, roll over and five more on the back and we’re done! Thank you, Dale, for reading!

There is that… and a great chance of skin cancer as an added bonus!

I think we’re going to need his master gardening skills sooner rather than later. Good one.

I found this a fun read despite the dystopian topic. Love the question at the end.

I remember a lot of those cheesy old sci-fi movies would have the question mark pop up after “The End” and I since I had two extra words to play with I thought that would be a good use of them. Thanks for stopping by!

I had a similar take on this week’s prompt and also mentioned the triffids. Those were seriously scary plants. Probably worth watching that movie again, even though it was terrifying.

It sounds like “The Day of the Gardeners”, our new superheroes. Clever use of the prompt and good writing, Michael. 🙂 — Suzanne
