Powerball and The Boss

January 13, 2016

If I should win that $1.5 billion dollar Powerball tonight the first thing I’m going to do is go out and hire some “people”. Then I’m going to have my people get in touch with Bruce Springsteen’s people and make arrangements for me to meet up with him – I’m thinking, assuming I get the payout this quickly, 1/31/16 in New Jersey would be good. We’ll have lunch, me and The Boss (I have no idea what we’ll talk), and then I’ll hang around for the sound checks. To end the day I’ll come on stage during Born to Run and count in the “1, 2, 3, 4” right before, “The highway’s jammed with broken heroes…” line. I’ll take a bow with the band, have my people shuffle me off into a waiting limousine and then I’ll fly home.

Yes, on a chartered jet.

What’s that you’re saying, 292.2 million to one against winning the jackpot? You’re right, but if you don’t buy a ticket you’ve got a zero chance, and to quote The Boss, “Talk about a dream, try to make it real.”

Don’t forget you get to pick the set list. See if he’ll play “E Street Shuffle” in its entirety.
