Oregon Occupation

Maybe I’m thinking about it wrong, but I can’t help but think that if the protesters/occupiers/militia (domestic terrorists?) out in Burns, Oregon, the group now calling themselves “Citizens for Constitutional Freedoms”, who are staging an armed occupation of seventeen Federal buildings inside a national wildlife refuge, and who are threatening to use force if force is used against them, were African American, they’d all be dead by now.

Hopefully the occupiers pack up and go home and it ends soon and peacefully. I can understand the government’s hesitance in moving to break up the occupation because standoffs and occupations generally don’t have happy endings. Wounded Knee, Ruby Ridge, Waco . . I’d hate to see Burns added to the list.
