Minnesota Twins: It was fun
The month of May was a lot of fun for baseball-starved fans in Minnesota but I think now that the trading deadline has passed and Terry Ryan’s effort to help the team make a legitimate run to the playoffs was half-hearted at best, it might be time, my friends and fellow Twins fans, to face the reality that there’s a very likely chance that this team will finish with something like 80-83 wins. It’s difficult to complain about a .500 season – especially after what we’ve been forced to swallow for the last four years – but the object of a 162-game season is to be playing baseball in October, not sitting around in October watching other teams play baseball while taking comfort in the crumb of a thought that at least we were better this year than we were last year. It makes me sad that we were close and our team’s management thought that getting close was all we as fans were worth and that actually getting there was for other baseball teams.
Sigh. Alas, you are correct. A MN team has once again got us all hyped up, only to be let down. Still a fan, but I still have my D’Backs for backup fandom.

The D’Backs will probably have a better record than the Twins soon. I’d love to live in a NL city.
