THE STORY:
The Greatest Discovery
Richie was in heaven. Behind the Petrie house he’d stumbled upon the greatest discovery any kid his age could find. He knew what they were – he’d seen pictures of them in his brother’s magazines, the magazines he thought he’d hidden so well – and these looked just like them. Richie never thought he’d actually see one, let alone this many of them at the same time.
He couldn’t wait to show his friend Robb his discovery of the Nipple Garden.
The morel of the story: “All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.” Edgar Allan Poe

Clever use of the word morel! What a great discovery for a young boy. Maybe some learning still in store.

Hopefully for his sake a lot of learning! Thanks for reading, Patrick!

Hilarious! Now THAT didn’t come to my mind but fried eggs did. Hahaha!

I thought about fried eggs too but nipples seemed like more fun!

Your take on the prompt was as off-the- wall as mine. 🙂

Sometimes a picture just screams for something off the wall! I really liked yours though; it made me think AND smile.

To quote one of my favorite bands: “Once in awhile you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.” At first I saw mushrooms and acorns and the next thing I know I was focused on nipples!

Nipples? Hmmmm…this is what you see? Nipples?
Ok. 😉

Guilty as charged 🙂 Of course I suppose if one is looking for nipples it’s easier to see them in something?!

Although I think he must have ingested some special mushrooms in order to imagine them as nipples, your creative interpretation had me laughing out loud. I guess Mother Earth might have nipples, now that I think about it. 🙂

A garden of ‘special’ mushrooms would have made for a good story idea! I’m happy I was able to make you laugh! Thanks for reading and commenting, Janet.

Dear Michael,
You deserve to have to wade through all of the puns in the comments your story will engender. (Loved the Morel).
Well done.

I can never resist a pun, good or bad. I don’t know what that says about me… I’m happy you caught the ‘morel’. Thanks, Doug!

Dear Michael,
Dare I say this story didn’t suck? This story is the embodiment of the Thoreau quote, “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” Very well done.

Rochelle

Thanks, Rochelle! It’s that Thoreau quote that makes FF so much fun!

I hope Richie doesn’t get pun-ished if he gets caught!

I’m hoping Richie is smart enough to not get caught. I’d hate to think that he loses his access to nipples because if that happens his life would be… pointless?

Ha! That’s the second story that mentioned the nipple mushroom. Also liked the “morel” of the story 🙂

Very clever – that must have been a very odd magazine to have shown nipples unconnected to boobs!

Ha! I never thought of that. Perhaps Richie has some bizarre garden vegetable fetish that I don’t know about?
