Doctor Who Premiere Thoughts
August 24, 2014
Thoughts after watching the Doctor Who premiere.
- Since I’ve never liked the Matt Smith doctor (or many of his storylines) (and not to mention that I thought his regeneration was the worst and most unimaginative I’d ever watched), I was more than happy to see him finally leave the show.
- Chris Hardwick, regardless of what pre/post show he’s hosting, straddles a very thin line between being barely tolerable and downright annoying. You’re right, but not that much. I’m probably only about 10% jealous.
- Celebrity pundits, and fans, who think the Doctor Who legend started in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston, along with those folks who don’t know Terry Nation, Donald Wilson, Sidney Newman and C.E. Webber from Carrie Nation, Flip Wilson, Alfred E. Neuman and a Weber grill, are an insult to other members of the Whoniverse. I’m being hard here, I know, and I know that the majority of today’s fans probably have no awareness of, or experience with, Doctor Who before 2005, but there are 26 years of Doctor Who canon out there from 1963 t0 1989 and there’s no excuse for ignoring those seasons or those Doctors or those companions, which was the case during the live pre-show, when talking about the series.
- William Hartnell lives!
