Friday Fictioneers: The Resistance
Friday Fictioneers is a global phenomenon. How can one photo and 100 words have such an impact? The only way to find out is to visit the Keeper of the Fictioneers, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields, and you can do that by clicking HERE.
This week’s photo is from Marie Gail Stratford who writes and creates HERE.
Resistance
The waiter took a chance leaving me the wrapped set of chopsticks but desperate times, desperate measures. You know what I’m saying?
Once their invasion ships landed the occupation was swift. Physically imposing, we stood no chance against the Toreians in open-field, hand-to-hand combat. We fell quickly and we’re only surviving now because they aren’t telepathic. Be thankful for small miracles.
The resistance operates by codes. An anagram of the third and fourth letters of a random sentence. Today’s sentence: “Happiness Enough”. Translated: “Shipshape. One Gun”.
One gun isn’t enough, but it’ll be enough for today.
The resistance lives.
(99 words. One saved for the resistance)

Nice take on the prompt.

Very clever. And well done on keeping a word back for the resistance. I really enjoyed reading this. (Just one thing, should it be third and fourth words not letters of the sentence?)

Ah, you’re right, it should be “words” instead of “letters”. Thank you for pointing that out!

Very clever, reminds me of George Orwell’s 1984. Big brother is watching, you know what i’m saying? lol I liked the use of anagram codes, those seem to excite me for some reason…maybe because of white collar. haha.
Cheers.

White collar? You got me on that one. Real low itch? How I’ll react? What secret code am I missing?!

I would love to spend some time creating anagrams, but the effing Toreians are at the gates. I must to arms.

Reinforcements! Huzzah! Thank you for coming by and there’ll be time for all the anagrams in the word once we reclaim our freedom.
