A Sad Realization for a Pacifist

I don’t understand a lot of things in life and one of them is how Hamas can fire rockets into Israel on a daily basis, targeting schools, school buses, children and populated areas, with the single purpose of killing Israeli civilians, and not a word is said and no mention of the attacks make it onto the nightly news. But should Israel even dare to look west toward Gaza, or take steps to defend herself and her citizens against civilian kidnappings and terrorism, the world is outraged.

I believe in pacifism, but that doesn’t mean I have to support militant fundamentalists or terrorist groups who murder children and civilians and who pursue an ultimate goal that includes the mass murder of an entire nation. The situation in the region is not hopeful and I’m not sure where the answer for peace between Israel and Hamas lies since negotiations, reason and logic have all either been rejected or failed. Sadly, I think Israel should reoccupy Gaza.
