The Gatekeeper (100 words)
Yes, I’m the gatekeeper at Willingham Castle, so yes, it makes perfect sense that I would share a picture of the gate I “keep” on my Facebook profile.
You’d think.
You should have seen the outrage I caused with my picture. I half expected it because I know these people. Gatekeepers are, for the most part, an odd bunch, and unless you’ve lived with one, known one, or kept gate yourself, you don’t know how odd we can be.
Well, most of them that is. I’m not odd, I’m one of the normal ones.
I stand corrected: the only one.

Interesting character. I would have liked to have learned more about him.

It would be fun to a gatekeeper, I think. What is normal anyway?

That was a nice take on the prompt 🙂

So Mr. Gatekeeper, You’re saying that all the other gatekeepers in the world are “Nuts!” They are indeed. I once heard of a gatekeeper making people pay to cross the bridge. Oh wait – that’s the toll bridge. If you don’t pay them, they’ll come get you!. Good story, very well done! Thanks, Nan 🙂

Lovely – who on earth would think they were odd? not normal? or admit it if they did? This is a truly wonderful and different take on the prompt. Enjoyed it immensely.

It is just my opinion, but I feel the story lacks conflict. Keep writing

I don’t know, Mike. This gatekeeper sounds a little squirrely to me. 😉 A fun read.

Michael, Good and humorous story. I don’t know any gatekeepers so I don’t know what odd for a gatekeeper would be. Your gatekeeper takes pictures of his gate and posts them on Facebook, but that isn’t all that odd. If it is, I’m probably so eccentric I don’t see it as such. Well written. 🙂 —Susan

I’m not mad. I’m sane. The rest of you are all mad.
A fun story; I feel like you could write a lot more from this guy’s POV.
