I Toad Him So

July 3, 2012

“Oh boy! Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, hurry uuuuuuuu…”

I believe those to be the last words of the little frog I ran over on my way to work this morning. I felt bad for him but the end was quick and there was nothing I could do to avoid it. Early morning and it was dark and raining and because of the extreme heat and humidity there was steam rising from the street. I’m driving along and suddenly there he was in front of my headlights hopping along for his life. Before I could even react to the fact that it was a frog he was… well, let’s just say he was not a frog anymore. I don’t think he knew what hit him.

I have no plans for the Fourth of July tomorrow, how about you? The 4th isn’t my favorite holiday because it’s generally very hot and none of the action starts until about 10:00 p.m. which is late for me. Considering how we’ve changed other holidays to observe them on a Monday, I’ve always thought we should change July 4th to fall on a Friday. Then we’d get that Friday off and we could relax and nap so we have some extra energy and then we could sleep in late on Saturday. I’m also a little down on the 4th this year because it’s going to knock my Netflix delivery back a day.

Speaking of movies, maybe I’ll do that tonight.

I know I am not the only one that hates how holidays mess with schedules and mail delivery, but it is always nice to meet anther person who feels the same. LOL

Sorry about the frogacide. I hope you recover quickly from your trauma.

    Have a great day

How was the reception? I hope the weather cooperated and it wasn’t too warm.

It was good. Lots of good food and air conditioning. 🙂

Mmmmm…. air conditioning. Are there two more lovely words in the English language?

Taking Mom and a friend to celebrate Wednesday at my sister’s. We’ll be seeing lots of in-laws, out-laws and friends I don’t see often enough. Due to your sad tale I’m gonna watch for frogs and gopher turtles although they’re slow enough I should miss them.
