I Toad Him So

“Oh boy! Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, hurry uuuuuuuu…”

I believe those to be the last words of the little frog I ran over on my way to work this morning. I felt bad for him but the end was quick and there was nothing I could do to avoid it. Early morning and it was dark and raining and because of the extreme heat and humidity there was steam rising from the street. I’m driving along and suddenly there he was in front of my headlights hopping along for his life. Before I could even react to the fact that it was a frog he was… well, let’s just say he was not a frog anymore. I don’t think he knew what hit him.

I have no plans for the Fourth of July tomorrow, how about you? The 4^th isn’t my favorite holiday because it’s generally very hot and none of the action starts until about 10:00 p.m. which is late for me. Considering how we’ve changed other holidays to observe them on a Monday, I’ve always thought we should change July 4^th to fall on a Friday. Then we’d get that Friday off and we could relax and nap so we have some extra energy and then we could sleep in late on Saturday. I’m also a little down on the 4^th this year because it’s going to knock my Netflix delivery back a day.

Speaking of movies, maybe I’ll do that tonight.
