Taking Notes

June 21, 2012

This is a little weird. I woke up about 2:00 a.m. last night and I was lying on my right side and I was writing – no pen, just the act of writing – with my left hand on my mattress. What’s weird is I don’t write with my left hand. I have no idea what I was writing, and as soon as I woke up enough to realize I was awake, I stopped. The only thing I was thinking about before I went to sleep that would have had to do with left handers was that Minnesota Twins first baseman, Justin Morneau, a left-handed hitter, can’t hit left-handed pitchers and I hope the Twins trade him.

Maybe I’m really supposed to be a leftie and this was my subconscious mind asserting itself? Maybe I should get a video camera and film myself sleeping and see if I don’t do this more often? Maybe I should get some cheap sheets and tape a pen to my left hand and see what I might be writing? Maybe I was just dreaming about writing and because I was on my right side my left hand was simply the free hand? Maybe someone was talking to me from beyond and I thought I was taking notes? Maybe this was a case of astral projection? Maybe it was demonic possession? Maybe . . .

I fell asleep one time sitting up in bed with my pen extended midair. I’ve also dropped a pen under my bed, and when I went to grab it, I found it had changed color. (!!) How many others were hiding under there?
