Haiku Bombers: The Five Senses

April 18, 2012

The prompt for the week is to write up to five haiku that relate to the five senses: Taste, Smell, Hearing, Touch and Sight. Write to one or all five.

The prompt comes from Quill Shiv and you can find more information and details on how to play along by clicking HERE. I hope you decide to join in!

~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~

TASTE
Bittersweet longing –
sweet sun-drenched kisses led to
late night departures.

SMELL
Lemon and lilac:
scents that bring me back to you
and a happy time.

HEARING
Strength, stamina gone;
hide my head, cover my mouth.
Hoping no one hears.

SIGHT
Naked Wooly Bear
inches higher. Toward blue skies
and a brand new life.

TOUCH
Snowflakes melt on your
rose-red cheek. Turning to tears
I kiss them away.

Hi thanks for commenting on my haiku! I love these Wednesday prompts because they get you thinking. I think my favourite one of yours is definitely touch. It’s very vivid and paints a really clear picture 🙂

These are all so very beautiful. And I feel as if all five of these are telling different parts of the same story. Wonderful job!
