Alice’s Land of Wonder (pt. 2)
The 100 Word Challege for Grownups – Week 37
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Prompt:
The prompt this week is to go back to last week’s entries. You are to use the last 10 words of the post next to yours and using just 100 words create a story. It may be a follow-on from the previous one or you may like to take it in a different direction. So:
1. You find your entry HERE
2. You go to the next entry (if you were 6 you go to 7 etc)
3. Using the last ten words as the prompt you write your piece. The prompt can be anywhere in the piece but must be complete as it was in the original.

I was #31 last week so I went to #32 which was Fragments from FireflyPhil.
Firefly Phil’s last 10 words were:
“…his friends had meetings about. She headed towards the hole.”

My 100 word story (not including the first 10 words):
“…his friends had meetings about. She headed towards the hole.”
“The hole?”
“Yes. She must be stopped. Permanently.”
A woman’s voice. Alice peeked around the corner, but saw only the back of a woman dressed in red.
“Here, use this.” Alice saw the steel flash of a gun.
Tiptoeing to the door, Alice started to leave but suddenly found herself stuck in the frame. Growing larger by the second, Alice gasped. The woman heard Alice’s struggles and turned.
“There, shoot her now!”
Shots rang.

“Alice? Wake up, Alice!”
Alice opened her eyes to find her sister smiling down at her.
It had all been a dream.
Oh my goodness! I didn’t realise at first that the lines under the dotted line were part of the story. Brilliant ending!

Yeah, that was supposed to be like the wrap up but I didn’t have any extra words left to say that!

I’m glad it was a dream. Kind of scary.

What a scary dream. Well done.

This worked well; fitted the prompt and still kind of like Alice, but not quite in a way that she has been before; scary!

Yeah, this story made Alice a little suspicious and I’m not sure I liked that. The curse and the blessing of the 100-word limit!

Oh nightmares. What makes them happen?

Got me! But I know I don’t like them!
