A Brick Building with Shadows
I’m not so sure I’m in love with any of these pictures, but I like looking at them. I like the shadows and how they fall. They were taken a little before noon and facing west.
This one is long shadows falling off the pipes running down
an old brick building.
Same building here only just closer up. No pipes, just shadows.
Dark shadows with secrets and an almost chinless profile on
the right side.
The full side of the building. All the pipes and all the shadows
and who knows what else.
Interesting.

I like these pictures, Michael. I love the almost abstract quality of pictures like this that concentrate on form, especially in closeups, like your pipes and shadows. The black-and-white emphasizes the form, too, and is perfect for this type of photo. I’ve always enjoyed the special kind of beauty found in good industrial photography.

Thank you, Elaine. I feel the same way. Pictures of ‘stuff’ is fun, but I like to try and see the forms within the ‘stuff’.

Michael, wow, those are so unique! I never would’ve thought to snap a photo of pipes hanging on the side of a building!
THAT is why I need to get to a photography class.
I see SO many wonderful pictures but I’m not very good at taking them myself.
Thanks for sharing.
