Happy Endings

February 2, 2012

On Sunday I blogged about the theft of an equipment trailer belonging to the Minnesota PowerHockey League. This morning I was happy to read that the team’s trailer has been recovered and police have a suspect.

Police in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis found the trailer yesterday when they were investigating another crime. They noticed the trailer’s plates had been removed and stopped to investigate. A quick check of the trailer’s registration sticker confirmed the trailer had been stolen. The thief, in haste or ignorance, had also failed to remove the team logo from the sides of the trailer.

The suspect is a convicted felon who was on probation and wanted in connection with other area thefts.

The Blackhawks will get their trailer back today.

Happy endings are nice.

Now that that’s all over and done with, I sort of wonder why the team chose “Blackhawks” for their name. I’ve been a fan of Minnesota hockey for a long time and the first thing I think of when I hear that team name is the Chicago Blackhawks who were, when I was growing up and going to games out at the old Met Center, a division rival. It’s a cool` name, Blackhawks, but it makes me think of that evil Chicago team.

I’m not a football fan so I can take them or leave them. The Cubs are all right, I like them. Better not ask me about the White Sox though 🙂

Blackhawks fan? It’s okay, I don’t follow hockey anymore (and I’m older now!).

I didn’t even know that Minnesota had a Blackhawks team. Well you learn something new everyday. We have the Columbus Blue Jackets here (I hated when they named the team The Blue Jackets). Of course, always a Red Wings Fan–as I was born one state north!!

    Happy Endings rock!!

    Cheers, Jenn

Michael, I loved this post….glad they caught the bad guy and recovered the trailer. It took me quite a while to read this because of all your links, but I loved them all….especially the plate spinner!
