Happy New Year!

December 31, 2011

This is it, goodbye 2011 and hello 2012. Is there a more optimistic time than the short hours before a brand new year brings it’s untold potential?

If you’re happy and excited about the new year and it’s many possibilities, let me spoil that for you with what might be the saddest song ever recorded.

Do you have any resolutions for the new year?

What do you have planned for tonight?

I think I might eat cheese for supper like Jane. Just because I can.

I like Dan Fogelberg. Someone once told me he was just another maudlin songwriter and I didn’t like that comment because who likes to hear negative things about about people you like. Realistically, this song is sort of maudlin, but I like it a lot and it’s one of my favorites by a guy who I still think is anything but maudlin!

I guess as long as I’m in a maudlin mood there’s no reason to stop there, huh?

If you made it down this far, Happy New Year! If you’re going out tonight, don’t drink and drive and don’t ride with anyone who’s been drinking. AAA offers Tipsy Tow from 6:00 this evening through 6:00 tomorrow morning and you don’t have to be a AAA member. They’ll come and pick you up and take you AND your car home for free. If you don’t care about saving your own life, you might save someone else’s. 1-800-222-4357.

Happy New Year!

    Happy New Year, Michael!

I don’t do “resolutions” per se. I do an “out with the old and in with the new”. I will clear out some old stuff (clothes, furniture, habits, thoughts) to make room for new.

I am hoping to get a few articles published this year. I’m going to take the plunge and submit them! I would also like to finish my book. Who knows where that will lead! It will be an adventure, that’s for sure.

I’ll see ya next year! 😉

It’s next year; where did the time go?! I’m not a resolution person either, Pamela. They were fun when I was younger but nowadays I don’t need to add to the ‘Critical List’. Good luck with getting some articles published and I look forward to reading about the announcement and where we can go to read them!

I am SO far behind reading blogs! Happy New Year, Michael! I hope you enjoyed your cheese (mine was a mighty fine extra-sharp Vermont white cheddar).

Here’s to more cheese, more blogging, and lovely times in 2012!
