When You Got Nothing (to say), You Got Nothing to Lose

December 21, 2011

Do you ever have nothing to say? I have nothing to say. I have thoughts (I always have those) but I have nothing to say about them. It could be I’m suffering from Holiday Depression? Hmm, now there’s something to think about.

I feel I have to say something because I don’t want to abandon the blog.

Customer treats have been down at work this year and I don’t know if I should blame the economy or the shoddy work done by some people in the area. I lean toward the second option because if I were a customer who always had problems with the work they were receiving back, I think I might think twice about rewarding those people with treats. If that is the case then it’s pretty lousy that we all have to suffer because of a few. I do excellent work and should be rewarded and shouldn’t have to be punished because of the ne’er-do-wells. Screw that team concept garbage – when it comes to treats then it’s every employee for themselves! I think the treat I miss the most might be those little peanut butter cookies with the Hershey’s Kiss plopped down in the middle, or maybe simple old-fashioned chocolate fudge.

Today is the first day of winter. I suppose I could talk about that?

I still really have nothing to say, I guess.

There seems to be sadness among local weather forecasters at the lack of snow. I don’t know if it’s because of Christmas, and they feel obligated to provide snow, or just that they like the excitement of a big winter storm. I’m not unhappy with the snow-free situation. Right now it’s snowing just a little bit. One of those really light snows with flakes that look like they’re falling in slow motion.

Still not a whole lot that I can think of to say here so maybe it’s time to simply stop?

Oh, I just thought of something to talk about!

Okay, do you irrigate your nose with a neti pot or bulb syringe? Ever since having sinus surgery a number of years ago I do and I swear by it and I never thought anything about it until I read this story about two people down in Louisiana who died from using a neti pot. They used regular tap water, as do I, and it seems their tap water contained something called Naegleria fowleri, which isn’t all that uncommon, and the bacteria got squirted up into their sinuses and from there went on to eat their way up the optic nerve and into their brains and that was that, the bugs ate their brain and killed them. Seriously. I know it sounds made up, but it’s real. I should probably provide a link but I’m too lazy right now. I could barely even think of anything to talk about just a few minute ago so I can’t be expected to look for links but they’re out there. Anyway, apparently you can drink water contaminated with these things and you’re all right, they don’t cause any harm in your gut, but it’s when they get into your nose and sinuses that you’re in trouble. There’s a treatment, but I guess once you’re infected it’s like 95% fatal. Not good odds, huh? If you want symptoms I’ve got them right here for you: changes in taste and smell, fever, headache, loss of appetite and nausea followed by confusion and loss of consciousness and then coma and then the Big Sleep. The things thrive in warmer climates, but cooler climates are also at risk. So if you’re into sinus rinsing, be careful. Boil your water first or used distilled water. Death by brain-eating-amoeba, what a way to go.

See ‘ya later when I have something to say.

Thank you for stopping by, and for your understanding. You Post reminded me about something my dad use to say. If you don’t say anything at all people won’t know how dumb you are, but they won’t know how smart you are either. Some how I like that though. ~snicker-snicker~ You have a great day, and Merry Christmas my friend, and thank you again.

I nearly always have something to say…I’m just not always willing to say it in the blog.

And I totally saw that story about the neti pot people!!! Scary scary stuff!

I saw that neti pot thing and immediately called my daughter, who uses one. Freaky.
