Odds and Ends

I’m stymied by the banana. I buy a banana that looks perfect and I get it home and open it up and it’s bruised and soft and inedible. I’m going to write more about the banana and trust me, it’s not going to be pretty.

The Fockers. Are these movies really funny, or do people go and see them because they’re filled with plays on the word “f*ck*r”?

Football. When did professional football players become so wimpy that they can’t play in the snow anymore? Isn’t this an outdoor sport that’s played in the winter? As I’ve always said, if you want tough athletes then look to Major League Baseball and not the NFL.

Speaking of tough athletes I saw a little bit of the World’s Strongest Man competition on ESPN2 yesterday. I don’t know anything about the training these guys do, but these are some enormous guys. The only reason I mention it is because one finalist, Dave Ostlund, is from Minneapolis. Go Dave!

Pass the Kool-Aid. Rumors are bubbling that Michele Bachmann might be getting ready for a 2012 senate run. Fingers crossed that it’s for senator of another state in which case I’m all for it.

Social networking of the meatspace variety. If this is true, it’s possible that I am missing an amygdala.
