Ho Ho Ho

December 23, 2010

I like Christmas songs. I’m definitely a traditionalist though because I don’t like much in the way of new Christmas music or the rearrangments of classics I hear on the radio.

But then I heard this new, very different, version of Deck the Halls by Pamplamoose and I really liked it. The beat is infectious, it’s fantastically spacey and (a little known fact here) I’m a big fan of the cowbell. If you’re a fan of the group you can get their Christmas album for free by donating a book to a public library through Amazon.com. Pretty cool. Here they are singing and playing and telling you how you can download the album:

Here’s a song I stumbled on. I haven’t heard it for a long time but it’s pretty good. It’s not a Christmas song, but the words, although a little gender non-neutral (if that sort of thing bothers you), are pretty good and the message is in keeping with the season. Plus, it’d probably be fun to dance to.

So you’re probably wondering what my favorite Christmas songs are. (Or maybe you’re not and you really couldn’t care less!) I’ve narrowed it down to three and here they are in no particular order. What Christmas songs are your favorites?

Love Pampaloose. Saw their ccommercials and wondered who they were. I hope they come up with some more music, I would buy it.

I’d never heard of them before this Christmas song. I like that they’re giving away music to people who donate a library book.
