(Don’t) Let it Snow, Let it Snow…

December 10, 2010

For the third week in a row another large winter storm is headed for the Twin Cities promising for one more snowy weekend. We’ve already had large snowfalls in the 8”-9”+ range and this weekend might top those amounts. Of course it all depends on those finicky computer models which, we’re told, are all over the place at this point. What that means is A) we really have to tune into the news stations every hour for the latest updates; B) we shouldn’t bother wasting out time watching the weather because it’s going to snow anyway so who cares?; or C) we could see anywhere from 3”-4” of snow or, once the computers make up their minds, 8”-14” of snow by the time it moves out on Saturday evening. Apparently the total snowfall amounts depend on whether or not there’s any rain/drizzle/freezing rain mixed in at the beginning of the storm, as well as a bunch of other things that only computers and weather forecasters can decipher.

No big secret, I don’t like snow. Go ahead and ask me if there isn’t one thing I like about snow, one little thing, and the answer will be “No”. The only thing I like about the snow is seeing it melt in the spring.

When asked if he liked snow, just one little thing about snow, one, teeny, tiny, no bigger than a single snowflake thing about snow, Michael threw back his head and said, “No.”

Heavy snowfalls and winter storms only make me think of summer and the beach and bikinis and walking on the shore in the moonlight and wearing my hair in a really cool mullet. Sort of like this song that puts everything into perspective.

You’re right! And this weekend will call for both the song *and* the drink!

I love snow, I’m sorry Mr. Fishman. But I don’t have to drive in it or shovel it. And please tell me you really didn’t have a mullet!
