How cold is it?

November 26, 2010

I’m watching video of people camping out and waiting in line to take advantage of Black Friday deals. I’m not really sure there’s anything I want that badly to wait in a line for hours in cold weather. It’s not as cold as it’ll be in another month or so, but it’s still cold.

Today would be a good day to go out and stick your tongue on a cold metal pole if you were so inclined. I wouldn’t recommend sticking your tongue on a cold metal pole, but I wouldn’t stop you either because it’s something everyone should experience once. Long before A Christmas Story was released, sticking our tongues to frozen poles was something every kid in Minnesota did and, with no disrespect to the movie, none of us cried!

I’m not going out there and shopping on Black Friday and I live at the other end of the MS River. We used to live in MN in the 70’s and I don’t blame you for staying home. I never did stick my tongue to a flag pole, common sense told better than that, but it’s damn funny when someone else doesn’t have that kind of sense. Enjoy your holidays!

Funny. I never stuck my tongue to a pole, the goofy boys did that trick. My sister went out last night and bought a washer, dryer, fridge and stove. She was home and in bed by 5.
Nothing is that inticing for me to be that cold for that long.
