Shorty #6 – Monday Morning

June 2, 2010

A story of 100 words or less and written for the following prompt:

“Tall Tales Or Legends” Your story must include one or more of the following words: cheesecake; alimony; galaxy; chipmunk.

Monday Morning

As it happens, I awoke Monday morning to a large house spider crawling like a chipmunk out of my nose.

“Mr. Spider, what were you doing in my nose this morning?”

“It’s Ms. Spider, Mr. House Owner, and I was laying eggs in your nose this morning!”

I was shocked, to say the least, but went about my day, ignoring the tickling and the constant urge to sneeze. Monday evening I blew my nose – a galaxy-shaking blow, it was – and gave birth to hundreds of baby house spiders.

“Thank you, Mister House Owner”, they all said as one.
