One-minute freewrite for today
Today’s Writing Prompt: Mirror
You have a magic mirror that makes you look how you feel. Right now, what do you see when you gaze into it?

Mirror, mirror. Pretty cliche but that’s what I came up with first for this first freewrite. I don’t like mirrors. I don’t hate them but they’re not my favorite things to have around or to stand in front of. Different reasons that aren’t important but I do like the scene from Happy Days with Fonzie standing in front of the mirror and…

… went to comb his hair and then realized it was perfect and just stood to admire himself. Henry Winkler was on the too short-lived sitcom Arrested Development playing a lawyer named Barry Zuckerkorn and there’s a scene in one of the episodes where he does the same thing. Probably doesn’t read as funny here as it was watching. Later in the series Winkler was replaced by Scott Baio who played a lawyer named Bob Loblaw. Say it three times fast. Mirrors also carry the potential for bad luck if you’re superstitious and why take the risk? You don’t go out of your way to walk under ladders or step on cracks, right?
That’s it for today. Thanks to the One-Minute Writer for helping me make use of a couple of my 1440 minutes I have today. Now I have to go find something to do with the rest of them. Any suggestions?
I’m a big fan of your freewrites, Michael!!!! Glad to catch up with you here! I HATE mirrors and avoid them whenever possible …
